Writing as Max Château

Max Château is the publishing name of Jálynn Castleman, used for memoir and public-facing narrative work.

Her writing explores identity, care, survival, and the systems people build to endure — often at the intersection of personal history and cultural analysis. She is drawn to stories that challenge dominant narratives, center lived experience, and approach truth with precision and humanity.

Current Work

Max is currently working on a book-length memoir that blends essay, scene, and archive to examine healing, authorship, and the role of technology as a reflective and reparative tool. The project explores how people make meaning from what remains — and how clarity, language, and care can become forms of survival.

Published Writing & Past Work

Earlier essays, reported pieces, and professional writing appear under her legal name and include work published with outlets such as Autostraddle and LGBTQ Nation, as well as client-facing and institutional writing across education, research, and strategy contexts.
